There are no squirrels in Iceland.
So the joke of startling someone, usually a pet, into action (by saying ‘Squirrel’) when a Squirrel appears may not work there. It definitely works at our house.

There’s still lots of snow on the ground and there are lots of squirrels under the bird feeders. We love winter but we know it’s not going to last. It’s time to get ready for longer days. So we’re emerging from Winter hibernation and eager for Spring. We’re thinking ahead to your gatherings of family and friends in the warmer weather.
